House Parents
House parents work 8 hour shifts - 6am-2pm, 2pm-10pm and 10pm-6am. Overnights receive a $1 an hour differential in pay. For detailed job descriptions, please contact us for more information.
Our Staff
Our current team includes an Executive Director, Program Manager, Staff Manager (who also oversees the OPI School Food Lunch program), Staff Supervisor, multiple House Parents (the true heroes working directly with the kids 24/7), two tutors, and a maintenance person. Our four longest-serving staff members have a combined total of over 106 years with GFCRH — that’s the kind of dedication and stability that defines us. We’re a tight-knit, hard-working group of people who are truly invested in making a positive difference in children’s lives, and we’re looking for more like-minded individuals to join us.
Benefits & Perks Upon successful completion of probation (and depending on hours worked), eligible staff receive a $750 annual health reimbursement account through TASC and a 3% matching Simple IRA managed by Edward Jones. A small raise may be given at the end of probation and may be given yearly with a positive evaluation.
One of the most appreciated (and often unsung) benefits is that staff are encouraged to eat meals with the children while on shift — at no cost to you. This adds up quickly: day-shift staff often enjoy two full meals, while afternoon staff (2–10) regularly get dinner (the most expensive meal of the day) plus snacks. Night-shift staff also eat at no cost when meals are available and have access to any leftovers.
In addition, night shift receives a $1/hour differential. Current starting rates for House Parents begin at $17/hour for days/afternoons and $18/hour for nights.
We believe in taking care of our team so they can focus on what matters most — the kids. This is one of the most rewarding jobs you’ll ever have. The changes you can see in the children day-to-day can be quite breathtaking. If you want to make a real difference in the lives of vulnerable children, it doesn’t get much better than this.
If you have a passion for helping children and a thick skin, we would love for you to join us. By “us,” we really mean the children. For 60 years, GFCRH has housed, fed, clothed, transported, and loved thousands of Montana children. If you’d like to become part of that legacy, please apply today!
